The sunglasses' sizing measurements can be found on each models product page under the "sizing" tab. Below are details of what each of these measurements stand for as well as a diagram illustrating these measurements.

Weight - this refers to the general weight of the sunglasses.

Eye Size - also known as the A measurement, this refers to the width of the lenses in millimeters as shown in the diagram.

DBL - stands for Distance Between Lenses and is the measurement of the nose bridge area between the lenses in millimeters as illustrated in the diagram. (note: shield style sunglasses will not include this measurement)

Temple - this measurement refers to the length of the temple arms in millimeters as shown in the diagram.

Dimensions - displayed as an A and B measurement these refer to the width and height of the lenses in millimeters as shown in the diagram. (A = width | B = height)

Base Curve - this refers to the degree of curvature of the lenses, the higher the base curve value the more rounded the lenses will be and the lower the base curve value the more flat the lenses will be. (4 = nearly flat | 8 = very curved)

To measure your head size, wrap a tape measure horizontally around your forehead as shown below. Select the helmet that is the closest fit to that size. A helmet should fit snug on your head, if it moves around a lot while wearing, it is too large.

ImpactX® lenses are made by photochromic particles which provide unique climatic management technology. Getting dark from low to high light transmission within few seconds and tailored to reach a custom color from an initial clear state, ImpactX® lenses are available in multiple colors and some feature a laser mirror coating. Contact lenses are closer to your eyes so eyeglass prescriptions are a little different. Generally contact lens exams will include the eyeglass examination vales as well so your Dr. should have both on file.

Prescriptions are normally good for 2 years unless otherwise noted by your doctor. We require an up-to-date valid prescription to place a custom Rx order with us. If you’ve purchased glasses with us previously then we will have your prescription on file and can use it if it is not expired. We recommend having an updated exam done before investing in a new pair of custom Rx glasses.

Please allow 7-10 business days for your custom prescription order to be completed prior to being shipped to you. Once completed you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your order's tracking number included.

Due to the complexity of some custom prescription orders this processing time may be increased. To help expedite the processing time of your Rx order we ask that you make sure to include your prescription by either uploading it at checkout or replying to your order confirmation email with the prescription attached. Please make sure your prescription includes your doctors name, the exam date and all prescription values including your pupil distance (PD) measurement or your order may be delayed.

Polycarbonate is an excellent choice for people with a strong prescription. These lenses provide visual clarity without adding too much thickness to the lens. Photochromic lenses will go from light to dark by adapting to UV and lighting conditions. Great for versatility and activities with variable light conditions. Mirror coatings are a multi-layer coating added to the front of the Rx lens that adds to the aesthetic and helps to block out light. We offer two different mirror coating versions:

At Rudy Project, we are committed to developing products aimed at the highest level of safety, exceeding requirements set by international standards, such as the CE or CPSC norms. Today our goal is to go even further by surpassing a new experimental testing protocol based on real accident data and scientific sources. The WG11 rotational impact test is a protocol adopted by Rudy Project, in cooperation with accredited and notified bodies, to test and measure the performance of our helmets against rotational impacts. The WG11 “pass-fail” criterion is based on the BRIC (Brain Injury Criterion) value, an algorithm that defines the level of brain injury. This value must be less than 0.68. Several studies in fact showed that concussive values of BRIC for humans varied from 0.60, when scaled directly from animal data, to 0.68 when obtained directly from college football players.

Our lens program has features common to every type of lens, such as neutralizing ultraviolet radiation completely up to 400 nm (UV 400 Protection), and maintains colors integrity even with the dark filters. We believe it is not enough to protect the eyes from hazardous radiation and external agents. It is also important to enhance visual acuity and minimize distortion, while offering high quality optics suitable for sports. In some extreme conditions an athlete must rely on technologies to enhance performance and minimize distractions. For this reason, we have expanded the range of filters with specific treatments including anti-fog, hydrophobic, and photochromic technology.

RP D Centered Optics technology features lenses where the optical axis is maintained parallel to the main axis of vision, permitting maximum utilization of lenses with extensive curvature (basis 6-8), respecting the need of optical quality and visual clarity.
